Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of the Darien Academy website and your participation in our courses. By booking a place or registering interest you agree to these terms.

1. Bookings

A place is confirmed only once the relevant deposit or full payment has been received and we have acknowledged your booking. Places are limited and allocated on a first-come basis.

2. Suitability and screening

All participants must complete our pre-course screening and declare any relevant medical conditions. We reserve the right to decline or withdraw a participant where, in our reasonable judgement, participation would pose a risk to themselves or others.

3. Assumption of risk

Tropical rainforest and jungle expedition training takes place in remote, physically demanding environments and carries inherent risks. Participants take part voluntarily and accept these risks. You are responsible for arriving physically prepared and for holding adequate travel and medical insurance suitable for remote tropical training.

4. Participant conduct

Participants must follow all instructions from Academy staff at all times. Behaviour that endangers the safety of the group may result in removal from the course without refund.

5. Changes and cancellation by us

We may alter course dates, itineraries or content where necessary for safety or operational reasons. Where we cancel a course, you will be offered an alternative date or a refund of monies paid to us.

6. Refunds and cancellation by you

Cancellations by participants are governed by our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

7. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our liability is limited to the amount paid for your course. We are not responsible for costs such as flights, insurance or personal equipment.

8. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
